Expression of Itp-r83ANIG.1063R under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to significant decrease in flight ability in adults (measured as flight time in a single flight assay on tethered flies).
A partial flight deficit is observed upon expression of Itp-r83ANIG.1063R in dopaminergic neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PF. The flight deficits correlated with abnormalities in action potentials recorded from dorsal longitudinal muscles during air puff-induced flight bouts.
Pupal expression of Itp-r83ANIG.1063R in all dopaminergic neurons leads to partial flight deficits.
Flies expressing Itp-r83ANIG.1063R under the control of Scer\GAL4Trh.PB show normal flight ability in a cylinder drop test. However, the flies show increased spontaneous firing from the dorsal longitudinal indirect flight muscles compared to wild type.
Expression of Itp-r83AdsRNA.Scer\UAS in the mushroom bodies, under the control of Scer\GAL4OK107 results in defects in the mushroom bodies in approximately 24% of cases (compared to 13% when only Itp-r83AdsRNA.Scer\UAS is present) and defects in the antennal lobes in 5% of cases. No defects were observed in the optic lobes.
