UAS regulates expression of the lig coding sequence containing a R185C substitution (relative to release 5.45 sequence, but published as wild type in FBrf0155809), and including parts of the 5' and 3' UTRs.
Scer\GAL4ey.PH-mediated expression strongly reduces eye size and ommatidial number in a diet-dependent manner - the eye phenotype is partially rescued in flies grown on 25% yeast-containing food.
