Detailed Description

Reference

Homozygous adults lay eggs with a shorter anterior-posterior axis than wild type.

Sibling crosses between homozygotes either produce no eggs, or eggs that don't hatch. Crosses between homozygous females and wild type males result in a few viable eggs, but eggs are not produced or don't hatch in the majority of cases. Crosses between homozygous males and wild type females result in a viable eggs in 20% of cases, and unhatched eggs in the other 80%.

About half of Sep21/Sep22 transheterozygotes die as pharates.

Only 54% of Sep22 egg chambers have the wild type number of nurse cell nuclei (15); the remaining chambers have either more or fewer, ranging from 3 to 57.
