UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutant form of erm containing only the zinc finger domains, fused at the N-terminal end to the Engrailed Repressor Domain (ERD), converting it to act solely as a transcriptional repressor.

      Expression of ermzf.Scer\UAS.ERD under the control of an insertion of Scer\GAL4GMR9D11 that expresses in ase[+] immature Intermediate Neural Progenitors (INPs) (P{GMR9D11-GAL4}attP2) suppresses the supernumerary neuroblast phenotype seen in erm1/Df(2L)erm2 mutant larval brains.
