Overexpression of otkScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of the ubiquitous driver Scer\GAL4da.G32 has no effect on viability and fertility, with the corresponding ovaries being indistinguishable from wild-type ovaries. Overexpression of two copies of otkScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP leads to flies that are viable but female sterile. All stages of oogenesis are present in these ovaries, but mature eggs are never deposited by these females due to malformation and obstruction of the oviduct.
Expression of otkScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of the ubiquitous driver Scer\GAL4da.G32 rescues the Df(2R)D72 mutant male sterile phenotype.
