The expression of foxoGD4348 under the control of either Scer\GAL4GMR58E02 or Scer\GAL4Fer2.2359 leads to a significant and progressive decrease in the number of dopaminergic PAM neurons in the adult brain, as compared to controls; adulthood-only expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Fer2.2359 (and Gal80[ts], for the temporal control of expression) also leads to a significant decrease in the number of dopaminergic PAM neurons, albeit less severe.
RNAi knockdown of foxo, through expression of foxoGD4348 in the posterior compartment of the wing disc, under the control of either Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU, does not affect levels of cell death.

There is a significant reduction in chromosome instability tolerance induced by mad2GD16427 expression, when foxoGD4348 is expressed in imaginal wing discs under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU or Scer\GAL4hh.PU. There is also a concomitant significant increase in cell death in these double mutants. Consistent with high levels of cell death and consequent loss of tissue, adult wings show notching when JNK signalling is reduced in a chromosome instability background (through expression of mad2GD16427).
