The expression of Nlg3UAS.cXa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B induces a severe decrease in the number of boutons at the third instar larval neuromuscular junction, as compared to controls.

The expression of Nlg3UAS.cXa under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4how-24B does not induce adult locomotor activity defects.

The expression of either Nlg3Δ10.UAS or Nlg3UAS.cXa under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B rescues the increased bouton number in the third instar larval neuromuscular junction of Nlg3KO127, even leading to fewer boutons compared to controls.

Muscle-specific expression of Nlg3Scer\UAS.cXa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU results in a significant decrease in bouton number and a significant increase in bouton size at the third larval instar neuromuscular junction. Neuron-specific expression (under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU) has no significant effect on bouton number or size.

Expression of two copies of Nlg3Scer\UAS.cXa under the control of two copies of Scer\GAL4how-24B results in larval lethality. Expression of Nlg3Scer\UAS.cXa under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4how-24B results in a significant decrease in bouton number at the third larval instar neuromuscular junction.
