Three copies of Su(var)3-7 are present, with a copy of the y+2083 marker being present between the 5' and middle copy and also between the middle and 3' copy. The 5' copy contains a stop codon at position 2240. It is fused at its C-terminus in frame with 157 amino acids of the y protein (this structure is due to the cloning procedure used to make the donor construct). The middle copy contains a stop codon at position 830. Again, it is fused at its C-terminus in frame with 157 amino acids of the y protein. The 3' copy contains a stop codon at position 2240.
