Deletion of the entire coding sequence of SCCRO. Generated by imprecise excision of P{lacW}SCCROs1754.
SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 flies show significant defects in upward migration when knocked to the bottom of a glass jar, compared to controls. SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 third instar larvae show significant decreases in their response to touch compared to controls. SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 flies have a shorter lifespan than controls. The average number of F1 progeny per breeding pair (female mutant, wild type male) is significantly reduced in SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 mutants compared to controls. SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 mutant clones generated in eye imaginal discs lead to the majority of mutant clones being eliminated from adult eyes (numbers are significantly reduced compared to wild type twin spots); whole mutant eye clones show significant decreases in eye size compared to controls. Mutant clones from third instar larval eye discs show increases in apoptosis, especially in cells close to clone boundaries.
SCCROJ34 has short lived phenotype, enhanceable by SCCRO3J155/SCCRO3J155
SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 is an enhancer of short lived phenotype of SCCRO3J155
SCCRO3J155, SCCROJ34 has female semi-sterile phenotype
SCCRO3J155/SCCRO3J155 SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 double mutants have shorter lifespans and increased infertility compared to either single mutant (single mutants have shorter lifespans and decreased fertility compared to controls).
SCCROJ34 is rescued by Scer\GAL4unspecified/SCCROUAS.Tag:HA
Expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 driven by Scer\GAL4unspecified rescues climbing ability defects in SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 flies and decreases in touch sensitivity of SCCROJ34/SCCROJ34 third instar larvae.
