Girdin-GFP is observed from 30 hr APF in mechanosensory organs. It localizes to the dendritic tip in three foci described as a loop, a tube, and a cap structure. The tube staining is at the distal tip of the inner segment and the cap-like and loop-like structures localize at or around the cilium. It is also observed in the membrane of thoracic epithelial cells and in the cytoplasm of sperm cells.
GirdinT:Avic\GFP rescues behavioral phenotypes and sensory neuron dendrite degeneration, and generates viable Girdin101 flies.
