74bp deletion between nucleotides 901 to 974 of CCHa2-R. This produces a frameshift at amino acid residue 62, leading to a premature stop codon at the 89th amino acid residue.
CCHa2-RKO51-2/CCHa2-RTAL-34 transheterozygote mutants weigh significantly less than control larvae from 72 to 108 hrs after egg laying (AEL) (although their feeding activity in mid-third larval instar is comparable to controls) but display rapid weight gain after 108 hrs AEL and surpass the wild-type weight at 120 hrs AEL. However, their weight later decreases again, resulting in pupa and adults of normal weight. CCHa2-RKO51-2/CCHa2-RTAL-34 transheterozygotes also display a marked developmental delay during the larval stages with the feeding period extended by about 24 hrs.
CCHa2-RKO51-2/CCHa2-RTAL-34 has abnormal body size | male | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Df(3R)Exel7320
The rapid body weight gain observed in CCHa2-RKO51-2/CCHa2-RTAL-34 transheterozygote male larvae between 96 and 120 hrs after egg laying is suppressed by combination with Df(1)Ilp6-3932 in hemizygous state.
