      MESR479 homozygous mutants are pupal lethal. Expression of Avic\GFPdsRNA.shRNA.Scer\UAS.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 in MESR479/MESR4V5.miGFPi transheterozygotes to knock down MESR4 using the miGFPi method (tagging a gene with a minimal GFP tag and then expressing RNAi against the tag) leads to small ovaries and germline differentiation defects (same as in MESR4V5.miGFPi homozygotes).
