Expression of CHES-1-like^{Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1} under the control of either Scer\GAL4^{nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16} or Scer\GAL4^{bam.T:Hsim\VP16} leads to reduced male fertility and show abnormal hyperplastic cyst in the adult testes with over-proliferating germline stem cell-like or spermatogonial-like cells and in case of Scer\GAL4^{nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16}-driven expression also significantly reduced number of elongated spermatids. Expression under the Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 driver leads to severely misshapen, folded and small adult wings in both sexes.

No morphological defects are observed in adult male testes expressing CHES-1-like^{Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1} under either the Scer\GAL4^tj-NP1624 or the Scer\GAL4^upd1-E132 driver.
