A 2bp deletion in the exon that is common between the A and D isoforms has been introduced into the TrpA1-CD-G4 mutant background. This results in an allele that expresses only the B isoform of TrpA1. The GAL4 driver sequence and w+mW.hs marker that are inserted in the progenitor TrpA1-CD-G4 allele are still present in this allele.
TrpA1-ACD-G4 mutant larvae have severely reduced rolling (escape) behavior in response to noxious temperature increases, compared to controls.
