Description

Genomic fragment containing the Poc1 promoter, intron and exons. A GFP tag has been inserted such that it tags the C-terminal end of the Poc1 B isoform, but does not tag the Poc1 A isoform.

Comments

The mitotic spindle defects (monopolar spindle) observed in embryos fathered by Poc1W45R mutant males are rescued by paternal expression of Poc1ABGFP.

Combination with Poc1ABGFP also restores the giant centriole size defect as well as the sperm immotility characteristic for Poc1W87X mutant males. Paternal expression of Poc1ABGFP also significantly rescues the embryonic phenotypes of progeny from Poc1W87X fathers (developmental delay, mitotic defects).
