JMJD5^KO mutants are viable and fertile and do not display any developmental timing defects. JMJD5^KO suppresses the variegated phenotype of the w or Sb locus (weak suppression) in the In(1)w^m4 or T(2;3)Sb^V background, respectively.

JMJD4^KO;JMJD5^KO as well as JMJD5^KO,JMJD7^KO or JMJD5^KO,Df(3R)HSPBAP1-KO double mutants are viable and fertile and do not display any developmental timing defects.

Combination with a single copy of JMJD5^KO does not modify the frequency of eye tissue to antenna-like malformed structures transformation in adult flies expressing TAF1B^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^ey.200.Exel nor the disrupted wing vein phenotype of flies expressing smo^{5A.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG} driven by Scer\GAL4^C-765 but it partially suppresses the massive eye overgrowth in flies expressing yki^{S168A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP,T:Ivir\HA1} with Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF.
