UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a protease-dead version (contains the amino acid replacement E591A) of the AdamTS-A-RB isoform (derived from the GH16393 cDNA clone).
Expression of AdamTS-AE591A.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU (combined with Scer\GAL80repo.PL) does not cause any morphological defects in larval brain but expression driven by Scer\GAL4repo results in elongated ventral nerve cord.
Scer\GAL4repo/AdamTS-AE591A.UAS partially rescues AdamTS-Arnwy2/AdamTS-Arnwy1
Expression of AdamTS-AE591A.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4repo partially rescues the neural invasion phenotype (neural cells from the brain invade adjacent peripheral structures such as imaginal discs) observed in AdamTS-Arnwy1/AdamTS-Arnwy2 larval brain: ~45% of larvae exhibit modest invasion phenotype. However, all the larvae show abnormal elongation of the ventral nerve cord.
