In larvae, ScerGAL4^TyrRII.PE is expressed in various muscles, including the lateral longitudinal muscles, the ventral longitudinal muscles, lateral oblique muscles and tail muscles. Strong expression is seen in the dorsal trunk, muscle fibers surrounding the gut and copper cells. Expression was also seen in teh cortex of the brain hemispheres, the mushroom body, and a cluster of somata adjacent to the mushroom body calyx. A strong projection originates from this cluster on both sides and extends towards the inter-hemispheric junction. Expression is seen in three ventral unpaired median somata are present in each segment of the thoracic and abdominal neuromeres along with a pair of small dorsal somata located in the dorso-lateral region of each of these neuromere. In the adult, expression is seen in many parts, including glial cells and dense ramifications that spread in the superior and inferior posterior slope surrounding the esophagus foramen, next to the great commissure.
