Detailed Description

Fbxl4Δ45 adults exhibit a significant increase in sleep duration during day time (females and males; ZT1-12) and night time (females only; ZT13-24) and a significant decrease in sleep latency period (females only), as compared to controls.

Fbxl4Δ45 adults moved to constant darkness conditions after 3 days of Light-Darkness entrainment do not exhibit significant differences in circadian period length and activity rhythm strength, as compared to controls.

The arousal-promoting large ventral lateral neurons (lLNvs) of Fbxl4Δ45 adults exhibit a significant decrease in action potential firing rate and a significant increase in GABA-receptor-mediated current, but not in resting membrane potential or spike amplitude, at both day and night time (ZT1-ZT3 and ZT13-ZT15, respectively), as compared to controls.
