Imprecise excision of P{SUPor-P}aqzKG08159, resulting in a 4 bp insertion in the promoter region of aqz (sequence inserted: ACAT, 189 bp 5' from the transcription start site, and 171 bp 5' from the parent insertion.
aqz1 homozygous embryos show prevalent central and peripheral nervous system defects, cuticle defects (e.g. cuticle holes), and patterning defects, as compared to controls; ganglion mother cells are much reduced in number and irregularly spaced, as compared to controls.
aqz1 is partially rescued by aqz+tCH322-25015
One copy of aqz+tCH322-25015 partially rescues the embryonic central nervous system defects observed in aqz1 homozygotes; one or two copies of aqz+tCH322-25015, however, exacerbate the lethality of aqz1.
