      ScerGAL4SerT.Si6 drives expression in five serotonin positive neurons including SE2, SE3 neurons and a dorsal pair of neurons in the fruitless expressing PMP cluster, it is also expressed in many serotonin negative neurons surrounding these clusters and throughout the brain.

      Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4SerT.Si6 cells in adults in a particular position within a chamber results in a significant increase in associative aversive place memory, compared to controls.

      Preactivation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 32[o]C, or Rnor\Trpm8UAS.EGFP, at 15[o]C before training) of Scer\GAL4SerT.Si6 cells significantly increases latency of escape from heat, with no effect on associative aversive (heat) place memory, compared to controls.
