hob²/hob³ transheterozygous salivary glands display numerous enlarged (Rab7-positive) late endosomes and significantly smaller Sp33 secretory granules at the third instar larval stage; these also display impaired insulin secretion (Dilp5) and Sps3 secretion at the onset of puparium formation, as compared to controls; hob² homozygous clones within mosaic salivary glands display impaired Sps3 secretion at the onset of puparium formation, as compared to controls.
