Hrb27CJ6/Hrb27CJ6 and Hrb27CJ6/Df(2L)BSC108 animals have small imaginal discs compared to heterozygous controls.
Hrb27CJ6/Hrb27CJ6 somatic clones in eye discs of third instar larvae are smaller than wild-type controls, display reduced cell proliferation (determined with BrdU incorporation and CycE-immunoreactivity), decreased cell density, and mild morphogenesis defects with basally displaced differentiating photoreceptor cells. A reduction in clone size is also visible in mature eyes, while mosaic discs composed mainly of Hrb27CJ6/Hrb27CJ6 cells produce overall reduced and rough eyes.
