UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a kinase-dead form of Pi3K68D (21 amino acid residues within the kinase domain have been deleted). The coding sequence is tagged at the N-terminal end with mCherry.
Third instar larvae expressing Pi3K68DKDΔ21.UAS.mCherry under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 do not show apparent defects in neurotransmission across the neuromuscular junction or in muscle health, as compared to controls.
