Expressing mir-252UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PU leads to a reduced fat body with fewer and smaller cells than controls in third instar larvae, a significantly delayed larval-to-pupal transition and defects in anterior spiracle eversion. Adults have a significantly reduced body weight and wing size likely caused by reductions in cell size, but not cell number, compared to controls. There are no differences in larval hatching rate.
