Expressing mir-252^UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4^Cg.PU leads to a reduced fat body with fewer and smaller cells than controls in third instar larvae, a significantly delayed larval-to-pupal transition and defects in anterior spiracle eversion. Adults have a significantly reduced body weight and wing size likely caused by reductions in cell size, but not cell number, compared to controls. There are no differences in larval hatching rate.

Adults expressing mir-252^UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4^ppl.PU have a reduced body weight compared to controls.

Expressing mir-252^UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PU induces a rough eye phenotype.
