      Ets21CΔ10 mutants progress to adulthood without noticeable developmental defects; the adult intestinal epithelium in young flies is indistinguishable from that of controls, but in older flies, aging-related changes, such as accumulation of precursor cells and abnormal tissue archiecture, are reduced, compared to controls; mutant adults have significantly reduced survival when exposed to oxidative stress (paraquat), compared to controls.
