D-ets-6
stress-induced transcription factor - controls intestinal stem cell proliferation & enterocyte apoptosis through distinct sets of target genes - loss of function prevents epithelial aging - ectopic expression increases tumor size - expression is regulated by the JNK pathway - Capicua represses cell proliferation via direct targets including Ets21C

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Comment: maternally deposited
0.85kb Ets21C transcripts are expressed at approximately equal levels throughout development. The 2.5kb transcripts are detected in larval and mid pupal stages. Ets21C transcripts are expressed throughout the embryo during germ band extension. During germ band retraction, expression becomes increasingly restricted to the ventral nerve cord. Expression is higher in one pair of neurons in each thoracic segment than in the abdominal segments

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Gene expression is increased in response to the presence of two copies of Scer\GAL4hs.PB.
dsRNA has been made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene. RNAi of Ets21C results in reduced arborization of ddaD and ddaE neurons and defects in dendrite morphogenesis.
Ets21C has been cloned, sequenced and its RNA expression pattern characterised.
