      Ankle2CRIMIC mutants third instar larvae show a severely reduced brain volume, with complete disruption of brain morphology, especially the optic lobe, as compared to controls; mitotic neuroblasts show frequent mis-positioning of polarity (Baz and Par-6) and cell determinant (Miranda) proteins.
