445bp deletion within Rcd4 (NT_033779. 5:g.8382966_8383410del ). The start codon is intact, but codons 4-131 are deleted.
445bp deletion within Rcd4 removes codons 4-131.
female sterile (with Rcd42)
short lived (with Df(2L)ED626)
short lived (with Rcd42)
uncoordinated (with Rcd42)
Rcd41 femoral chordotonal organs are highly disorganized: ciliary rootlets are rarely observed in ordered pairs, are missing in many of the scolopidia, or do not form junctions with basal bodies; basal bodies are defective or absent; centrobin-positive basal bodies are absent; and the actin bundles are disorganized.
Rcd41 Johnston's organ scolopidia have a single ciliary axoneme (some with ciliary membrane or structural defects) or no axonemes at all.
Embryos derived from Rcd41 (in combination with Rcd4UASp.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 to rescue coordination) mothers exhibit extensive disorganization of the mitotic apparatus from very early stages of development.
Expression of Rcd4UASp.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 suppresses lethality and incoordination phenotypes while it fails to suppress female sterility phenotype of Rcd41 homozygotes.
Rcd41 is rescued by Rcd4Ubi-p63E.C.EGFP
Rcd41 is partially rescued by Scer\GAL4elav-C155/Rcd4UASp.EGFP
