Description
Description
Cytoplasmic ribosomes are found on the endoplasmic reticulum and in the cytoplasm. They translate all mRNAs produced from nuclear genes and perform the majority of cellular protein synthesis. Ribosomes are formed by two ribonucleoprotein subunits, large and small. (Adapted from FBrf0205398).
Notes on Group

Cytoplasmic rRNAs are multicopy genes organised in tandem arrays (FBrf0202637). The cytoplasmic rRNA genes can be found using SO:0002360 and associated with records: 2SrRNA, 5SrRNA, 5.8SrRNA, 18SrRNA and 28SrRNA.
