Df(2L)tsh8 is a molecular deletion specific to the tsh gene in 40A
(Fasano et al., 1991).
Df(2L)305, induced by B. Wakimoto on P{wAR}4-3, deletes tsh and
four complementation groups (Kerridge, unpublished) on the telomere
side of tsh; deletion of 39-40.
Df(2L)TE48-2, from Marie-Laure Samson, deletes the same four complementation
groups on telomere side of tsh but not the tsh gene itself (Kerridge,
unpublished).
COMPLEMENTATION DATA:
P832','w1118; P{w+tAR ry+t7.2AR=wAR}4-3: localized on tsh DNA walk 3' to
the transcription unit. Df(2L)305 induced on this chromosome B. Wakimoto. Shows
position effect on w+; all w+ insertions (10 insertions localized on tsh walk)
with this effect (so far) located in/ near the tsh gene. Weak tsh allele with
tsh8 and Df(2L)305. Viable with Df(2L)TE48.
P805','w1118; P{w+=*}51/CyO: weak tsh allele (halteres droop, wings held
up), W+ position effect; escapers (18Cy+/45CyO) with Df(2L)tsh8, lethal with
Df(2L)305 (107 Cy-) viable with Df(2L)TE48.
P842','y* w*; P{w+mC=lacW}A3-2- 66:viable with three deletions
P897','y* w*; P{w+mC=lacW}l(2)B4-2-121/CyO: strong tsh allele, w+
position effect; lethal with tsh8 (225 Cy-), Df(2L)305 (128 Cy-), viable with
Df(2L)TE48.
