Subject: CG14750 and l(2)44Db should be merged There is evidence that the genes CG14750 and l(2)44Db should be merged. Dockendorff et al.2000 <up>FBrf0126727</up> determined that the mutant l(2)k08904 is an allele of a complementation group they called l(2)44Db. There is a P-element insertion in l(2)k08904 that is within the protein coding sequences of the gene CG14750 (at AE003836.4 nucleotide 91180). The estimated cytogenetic location of CG14750 (2R-44D5) is consistent with it being l(2)44Db. Neither of these two genes currently lists the other as a synonym. \-- \------------------------------------ Robert W.
