The following is in response to a query from Dr. Lucy Cherbas on the identity of the cultured cell lines used in
Bownlee et al. 2011 JCB  195:231 
Buster et al. 2011 2013 JCB  201:49 
Wallace et al. 2015 G3  5:803 
In papers from my lab, the S2R+ and Kc cells that we used came from the DGRC.  However, S2 cells that we used in our papers came from two sources, DGRC and Invitrogen.  I couldn't say that we used only S2 cells from Invitrogen in any individual study.
