ScerGAL4E409 drives expression in a subset of gustatory receptor neurons of the labellum that project to the anteriormost region of the anterior maxillary sensory center (AMS1).

ScerGAL4E409 is expressed in the gustatory receptor neurons of the labellar taste pegs of the proboscis which are sensitive to carbon dioxide. Expression of ScerGAL4E409 in the proboscis is distinct from the expression of AvicGFPGr66a.3x.IRES.2x or AvicGFPGr5a.3x.IRES.2x. The projection of the neurons labeled by ScerGAL4E409 in the anterior subesophageal ganglion does not overlap with the projections labeled by AvicGFPGr66a.3x.IRES.2x or AvicGFPGr5a.3x.IRES.2x.
