In mid-first instar, ScerGAL4vn-GAL4 is expressed in four cells in the wing disc, which expands by late first instar to a proximodistal stripe. By second instar, the distal cells in that stripe will stop expressing ScerGAL4vn-GAL4, leaving only the proximal half.

ScerGAL4vn-GAL4 drives expression in the L3-L4 intervein region, hinge, pleura, notum, and tracheal cells in the wing disc.
