In early embryo, used as nuclear marker for identification of cells within mitotic domains.
Shows highly fluorescent green nuclei and less fluorescent cytoplasm. (Fusion protein contains nuclear localization signal.) There is a long delay between zygotic expression and appearance of fluorescence.
report comment: The Ubi::lacZ::GFP fusion protein is highly fluorescent when maternally supplied, but there is a long delay between zygotic expression and appearance of fluorescence.
