Description

5.7kb EcoRI fragment, from position 68.6 to 62.9 on the AS-C map, containing an enhancer for the dorsocentral (DC) cluster, is ligated upstream of the sc promoter fragment of Ecol\lacZsc.3.7.

5.7kb EcoRI fragment containing the dorsocentral enhancer from the ac-sc region is fused upstream of a 3.7kb sc promoter fragment driving expression of a lacZ reporter.

Statement
Reference

Expression is observed in the precursor cells of the dorsocentral bristles.

In third instar wing disc, expression of EcollacZsc.3.7RA (serves as control), plus additional elements in the notal region of the disc; these additional regions of expression correspond to cells that give rise to the dorsocentral bristles (dc), to a region of the prescutum and to a region of the postnotum.
