Description

The distal part of the Rh3 promoter (nucleotides -160 to -56) is attached to the proximal part of the Rh4 promoter (nucleotides -63 to +85) which both drive expression of the GAL4 driver. The two promoter fragments are from genes expressed in complementary subsets of photoreceptor R7 cells distributed stochastically in the main part of the retina, and results in this transgene expressing GAL4 in all R7 cells with fairly high specificity.
