Description

The distal egh promote drives expression of a lacZ reporter. The promoter fragment corresponds to a PstI 1820 nucleotide fragment that spans 640 nucleotides of the adjacent gene, 340 nucleotides intergenic region and 840 nucleotides of egh exon 1.

EcollacZegh.PS expression is observed in the embryonic, larval, and adult central nervous system. In the larval ventral nerve cord, EcollacZegh.PS is expressed in one neuron per abdominal hemisegment and two per thoracic hemisegment; these neurons project to the central brain. These neurons are also positive for expression of the ap GAL4 driver ScerGAL4ap-md544.
