ScerGAL4Piezo.1.0 drives expression in sensory neurons in the adult and larva. In the adult, these include Type I (eo type) ciliated sensory neurons such as the ones that form the campaniform sensilla of the haltere, the thoracic bristles and the chordotonal neurons from the Johnston organ. In the larva, ScerGAL4Piezo.1.0 labels multidendritic neurons (Type II) including neurons of the class III and the lateral bipolar md neuron (abdominal intersegmental bidendritic neuron isbp). Some of the Type II neurons identified by ScerGAL4Piezo.1.0 are also labeled with ScerGAL4ppk.PG. Expression of ScerGAL4Piezo.1.0 is also detected in larval non-sensory tissues such as the hindgut, salivary glands, aorta and trachea.
