Comments

FLP-mediated recombination between the two progenitor insertions has resulted in the deletion of the genomic sequence between them.

Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)MM3 animals have a defect in the programmed cell death of vCrz neurons: 13 +/- 1.4 neurons are present at 7 hours after puparium formation (APF) (these neurons are no longer present in wild-type animals at this stage) and 4.5 +/- 3.5 neurons are present at 16 hours APF.

Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)XR38 animals have a defect in the programmed cell death of vCrz neurons: 13.6 +/- 2.2 neurons are present at 7 hours after puparium formation (APF) (these neurons are no longer present in wild-type animals at this stage) and 12.6 +/- 2.5 neurons are present at 16 hours APF. 0.5 +/- 0.6 surviving EW3-sib cells are seen in these animals (these cells die during embryogenesis in wild type).

The normal programmed cell death of vCrz neurons is completely blocked in Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)X25 animals (assayed at 7 hours and 16 hours after puparium formation). 10 +/- 1.3 surviving EW3-sib cells are seen in these animals (these cells die during embryogenesis in wild type).

The normal programmed cell death of vCrz neurons is completely blocked in Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)grim-A6C animals (assayed at 7 hours and 16 hours after puparium formation).

The normal programmed cell death of vCrz neurons is completely blocked in Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)grim-A6C animals (assayed at 7 hours and 16 hours after puparium formation). 9.5 +/- 1.8 surviving EW3-sib cells are seen in these animals (these cells die during embryogenesis in wild type).

Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)ED224 mutant early-mid third instar larvae display supernumerary ventral neuroblasts compared with wild-type.

Ventral neuroblast-clusters of Df(3L)grim-A6C/Df(3L)MM2 mutant larvae display supernumerary cells compared with wild-type.

Inferred to overlap with: Df(3L)ED224.

Inferred to overlap with: Df(3L)ED225.

Inferred to overlap with: Df(3L)grim-A6C.

Ventral neuroblast-clusters of Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)ED225 mutant larvae display supernumerary cells compared with wild-type. Df(3L)MM2/Df(3L)ED225 is semi-lethal. The flies that emerge live for only one or two days.

NOT in combination with other aberrations

Heterozygous animals have a defect in the programmed cell death of vCrz neurons: 6.2 +/- 3.3 neurons are present at 7 hours after puparium formation (APF) (these neurons are no longer present in wild-type animals at this stage) and 1.3 +/- 1.1 neurons are present at 16 hours APF.
