Ace14/Df(3R)l26d flies rescued by Ace+mFa occasionally show a bang-sensitive phenotype; flies subjected to mechanical shock sometimes produce a burst of uncoordinated motor activity followed by paralysis, from which they recover in approximately 30 seconds. Hemizygotes carrying two copies of AceTM.T:Hsim\gC often die as pharate adults. Surviving adults are often bang-sensitive and die several days after eclosion. Adults are sometimes uncoordinated and have reduced locomotor activity and climbing scores. Grooming behaviour is also abnormal.
