Lethality occurs after puparium formation. Mutations elicits a wide range of homeotic transformations: proboscis to leg and/or antenna, antenna to leg, dorsal prothorax to wing, first leg to second leg, haltere to wing, third leg to second leg and genitalia to leg and/or antenna.

Mutation changes the level of w expression in ph-p^lac+3 flies; eye colour is lighter.
