bratfs1 homozygous somatic clones in the larval brain do not present significant changes in cell number or in the proportion of mitotic cells at 72h after clone induction, as compared to control clones.

Embryos derived from bratfs1/Df(2L)TE37C-7 females display severe abdominal segmentation defects.

Mutant embryos have defects in abdominal segmentation. Most embryos laid by bratfs1/Df(2L)TE37C-7 mothers have 2 or 3 abdominal segments rather than the normal 8. Most embryos laid by bratfs3/bratfs1 mothers have 3 or 4 abdominal segments rather than the normal 8.
