dpyD heterozygotes show a mild small, oblique wing phenotype.

Heterozygotes exhibit a slight oblique wing effect and moderate vortex and comma effects on the thorax. Transheterozygotes with dplv1 are lethal. Transheterozygotes with dpv or dpv2 have strongly enhanced thorax effects. Transheterozygotes with dpo have strongly truncated wings with possible enhancement of thorax effects.

Oblique wing phenotype (o). Thoracic vortex phenotype (v). dpD/+ has slightly oblique wing and moderate vortex and comma effects on thorax. dpD/dpov1 has strong wing and thorax effects with reduced leg and body size. dpD/dpolv is lethal, and dpD resembles dpolv in several ways. dpD/dpv has strongly enhanced thorax effects, and dpo/dpD has reduced wings with possibly enhanced thoracic effect.
