8bp deletion (TAAAGGAG) in the second exon. This is predicted to produce a frameshift after 198 of the 606 amino acids, followed by three missense codons and a premature stop. The truncated protein would not contain the putative GTP-binding domain.

Ns3G0431/Ns3A60 males show 100% lethality, while females show 22.4% viability. The surviving females eclose later than their heterozygous siblings, are smaller than normal and have slender bristles mimicking the Minute phenotype.
