Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

pic2/picPL12c animals develop into viable adults, but these animals show a significant developmental delay and eclose on average 2 to 4 days later than control siblings at 25[o]C and 18[o]C respectively. The flies have cuticle defects including missing bristles and small bristles that resemble those of Minute mutants.

Phenotypic Class
Suppressed by
Statement
Reference

picPL12c/pic2 has partially lethal - majority die phenotype, suppressible by gig[+]/gig192

picPL12c/pic2 has abnormal developmental rate phenotype, suppressible by gig[+]/gig192

Phenotype Manifest In
NOT suppressed by
Statement
Reference

picPL12c/pic2 has macrochaeta phenotype, non-suppressible by gig[+]/gig192

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Heterozygosity for gig192 substantially suppresses the late eclosion phenotype and the semi-lethality of pic2/picPL12c animals, but the bristle defects caused by pic2/picPL12c are not significantly suppressed by gig192/+.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

May show interallelic complementation for viability, but survivors are pic in phenotype (Hilliker, Clark and Chovnick, 1980; Hilliker, Clark, Gelbart and Chovnick, 1981; Clark and Chovnick, 1986).
