Inversion breakpoint resides between the Pro- and charged domain of the al gene product at position 9332.
Homozygous legs have a rudimentary claw and the pulvillus is present. The tarsal segments are of normal size.
Arista and scutellum are reduced in size. Introduction of a 13.3kb genomic al fragment in P{al-13.3} causes partial rescue of the scutellum phenotype and complete rescue of lethality, though the aristae are still reduced in size. Homozygous flies that carry one copy of alB38 in P{al-13.3} display gaps in the most proximal part of the second longitudinal wing vein and the wing blade is bent downward at its posterior tip.
alush/al130 has arista phenotype, enhanceable by Df(3R)e-19
alush/al130 has arista phenotype, enhanceable by Df(3R)e-BS2
The short arista alush/al130 phenotype is enhanced in C152/+ flies. This phenotype is also enhanced when flies carry either the Df(3R)e-19 or the Df(3R)e-BS2 deficiency; both of which remove the C15 gene.
