Ommatidial clusters in roDOM/+ eye discs and adult eyes exhibit severe over-rotation.
Stop-furrow phenotype. Eye size reduced and kidney shaped due to premature arrest of morphogenetic furrow progression. Ommatidial number reduced to fewer than 100.
Arrests movement of the morphogenetic furrow in the eye resulting in a reduced adult eye that specifically lacks the anterior portion of the retina. Eye discs of third instar larvae display a 'furrow-stop' phenotype.
Reduced eye. The progression of the morphogenetic furrow in the developing eye disc arrests. The eye disc appears normal at the time of arrest. dpp expression is abolished (as assayed with a dpp-lacZ fusion gene).
