Description

Imprecise excision of the P{PZ} element resulting in a deletion of the slbo locus (deletion is of only the slbo locus).

Deletion of approximately 5.75kb extending from P element of slbo01310 to beyond slbo transcription unit.

Detailed Description

slboLY6/slboe7b mutants fail to initiate border cell movement in stage 10 egg chambers. The border cells remain at the anterior tip of the egg chamber.

Border cells do not migrate in slbo01310/slboe7b females.

Border follicle cells fail to migrate in slboLY6/slboe7b females.

Border cells migrate only 0-25% of the normal distance in homozygous egg chambers.

Female sterile over slbo01310 : border cell migration fails completely.

Wild type cuticle pattern, and no obvious morphological defects.

jinghs.PL does not rescue the border cell migration defects of slbo01310/slboe7b.

Border cell migration defect of slboe7b/slboe14a is dominantly enhanced by btlH82Δ3 and btlLG19.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Partially rescued by

slboe7b is partially rescued by slboB-RR

Not rescued by
Comments

Lethality can be rescued by P element containing wild type slbo sequences, but not by a derivative in which stop codons replaced amino acids 29 and 30.
